"Some horses are remembered. Chetak is honored. He carried Maharana Pratap through the Battle of Haldighati in 1576, known for his courage, speed, and an unshakable loyalty that outlived even the battle itself. History remembers him leaping across a stream nearly twenty five feet wide, wounded and failing, so his king could reach safety before his own strength finally gave out. 

A memorial still stands at the exact spot where he took his last breath, a tribute rarely given to an animal, but Chetak was never simply an animal. He has always been the historical figure I return to most, not for his speed or his battles, but for what he represents: that loyalty, at its truest, asks for nothing in return. This is my tribute to him, painted in motion, the way he lived."
